New Dunfermline Carnegie Museum - Club Vest Display

Published on Monday, 15 May 2017 20:54

Members will have read in the local Press that the New Dunfermline Carnegie Museum is due to open later this week,

Nearly three years ago the planners were asking for contributions for their display cabinets including some items to celebrate local sporting achievement.

After a few ideas were considered , the committee agreed to donate a Club vest signed by our Olympians - Linsey Macdonald , Ian Mackie and Eilidh Doyle.

Quite a challenge , with Linsey in Hong Kong and Eilidh running round the world. However , with lots of involvment from many sources , Ian  finally completed the

signing when he visited the Museum curator, Lesley Botton, in January.

It is fitting for Pitreavie AAC to be represented in the New Museum , in order to reflect the contribution it has made to the sporting life of the area over the past 60 years.
