What a glorious day for out first Forth Valley League match of the season at Grangemouth.
The league has now split into three divisions with Pitreavie remaining in the top division and we had a few familiar faces in our team alongside lots of athletes who were competing for the first time in an outdoor league. We were lucky to have our U15 Girls Age Group Captain to assist today who took the under 11s under her wing for a warm up. Sophie did say however there were a few complaints that she "wasn't going fast enough" and she had to tell them to keep their speed for the races!
As always, everyone gave their best effort and it looks like we came 2nd overall behind Edinburgh. This will be confirmed once the results have been checked.
A special mention has to go to the Under 11 Girls for their team spirit and enthusiasm as they decided to run the relay at the end with only three runners "just for a bit of practice". With India running two legs together they managed to come 2nd, what a shame their time won't count! All credit to the organisers who let them run a non-scoring race and it just sums up how this league is all about development at the younger ages.
Thanks to our team of officials who were coerced on the day to help and gained an additional 20 points for the team. Katie Revie, Clark Thompson, Laura Thomson and Rachael Doyle; you'll be glad to hear you are off the hook for next time as I'll be recruiting another four helpers!
All in all a great day, great athletes and great supporters (well done Mums and Dads).

Please note - the Forth Valley League is no longer sponsored by JSB Plumbing therefore their website is defunct. A new one is in progress but for now we will use our own website to add info:
http://pitreavie-aac.co.uk/index.php/leagues/jsb-forth-valley
It will probably take a bit of time for folks to stop calling it the “JSB” or “JSB League” but the plan is to return to calling it the “Forth Valley League” (and we will need to rename it on our own website!)
