Pitreavie AAC Road Runners

The second Handicap race of the year for Pitreavie Road Runners saw the new handicap calculations working well with most of the 22 runners finishing in a hectic 3 minute period.

The podium had Colin Lee as the winner in a PB time of 37.29, second was Ronnie Ritchie (35.14) and Rebecca Watt third in (39.42). They were followed by Hayley Quinn with another PB (39.09), Barry Miller (39.54), Scott Mitchell (36.00), Laurence Leask (37.01), Neil Forrester (37.40), Graeme Crane (31.27), Laura Wilson (43.34), Christine Syme (46.55), Jane Macleod (41.11), Michael Bisset (36.30), John Syme (43.44), Graham Gordon (31.04), Mark Zuidewiud (30.26), Alison Green (48.02), Serena Jones (46.50), Alan Forbes (37.48), Barry Haddow (39.37), Penny Hicks (40.43) and Frank Coyle (46.13). The top three in the cumulative points are now Ronnie Ritchie, Colin Lee and Hayley Quinn.

At the London Marathon the first home of the five club members taking part was Graham Gordon, 2025th overall and just outside his PB in 3.07.27, despite only returning from injury a month before. Avril O’Donnell recorded a good time of 3.43.44 and Jane Macleod finished 83rd F60 in 4.52.22. Karen Thurlow and Kim Copp ran together to finish in 5.39.47. Only two weeks later Jane Macleod ran the Boston Marathon in 4.27.25 finishing a creditable 115th F60 in this historic race.

The midweek running of the Kinross 10k was the fourth Championship race of the year and 18 Road Runners competed. The first Pitreavie runner home in 24th place was Neil McLachlan in a time of 39:10. He was closely followed by Graeme Crane in 25th place in 39.29, then by Mark Zuidewiud (39.43), Colin Lamont (40.37), Suzanne Gray (41.56), Iain Robertson (42.21), Alan Forbes (45.50), Michael Bisset (48.50), Michelle Parker (48.51), Laurence Leask (50.10), Hayley Quinn (50.11), Lauren Gordon (50.53), Laura Foster (50.57), Mandy Cazes (52:36), Irene Miller (55.03), Christine Syme (56.28), Serena Jones (58.14) and Alison Green (60.42).
