The funeral of one of our past members - John Grieve - was held last Friday at Dunfermline Crematorium,
John was a smashing wee runner to watch , particularly adept at Cross Country , as he skipped over the muddy courses. His most successful year was 1966.
That year he won the Individual East District League Youth (U17) Title (placing 2nd, 1st & 1st ) and went on to take the East District Cross Country Youth Championship.
We don't have much detail of his track record but his best mile time of 4:31.2 (eqiv to ~4:12 1500m) is ranked 3rd all time club best for an U17.
Unfortunately he had been suffering from dimentia for the past 12 yrs. Our condolences to his family.
His passion for Pitreavie AAC was mentioned several times in the eulogy.
