Today was the day the Jingle Bell event sprung to life, and what an amazing day it was! I can't thank everyone enough for helping get this off the ground but my main thanks go to Alan and Tyler White for both laying out and clearing away the course (we won't mention the knots), who knew how much was involved in this! Alan and the team in the cafe were great as usual and this brings in extra revenue for the club. Registration, tombola, course marshals and the finish line team...you were all fab! And of course we still have the photos to look forward to from Alan (multi tasking), Andy and Stephen. Johns Wands was ready to announce however after a problem with the microphone he instead treated us to some Christmas tunes on the track.
We used PBtiming for timing the races and they were fantastic to work with. Results are available already!
The stars of the day however had to be the runners who caused a real buzz around the track. The vision for this event was for it to be inclusive, friendly and fun and I believe we achieved all three.
So thanks to everyone, I'll be hanging up my elf hat but it will be safely packed away ready for next year.
