Jacob leads the way for Pitreavie's Lower YDL team

TALENTED Pitreavie AAC youngster Jacob Carr demonstrated his all-round athletic ability at the latest meeting in the Youth Development League.
Jacob, competing at under-13 level, showed off his running, jumping and throwing skills to pick up a bundle of points for his team at Grangemouth.
He was victorious in the high jump with a clearance of 1.44m, and also won the shot putt with an impressive throw of 8.80m.
And just to round things off, he was runner-up in the 200m 'B' race, finishing in 28.74s.
Distance runner Conor Gourley was also a winner in the same age group. He finished a massive 14 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor in the 1500m, recording an excellent new personal best time of 4:48.87.
Sprinter Ross Birrell picked up a couple of third places, clocking 14.05s for the 100m and 28.78s in the 200m.
And Kyle MacFarlane took second place in the 800m in a time on 2:31.58.
At under-15 level, Billy Doyle won the 300m in 37.59s and took second place in the 200m in 24.26s.
Cameron Keelan enjoyed similar success, winning the 80m hurdles in 11.88s and finishing runner-up in the 100m in 12.67s.
Conor Allan was second in the discus with a throw of 21.87m, and finished third in the 300m 'B' race in 43.15s.
For the girls, Dani Mauchlen enjoyed a couple of good performances in the under-13 events.
She was second in the long jump 'B' string with 3.80m, and was third in the 70m hurdles 'B' race in 13.18s.
Naomi McHardy took third place in the high jump 'B' string with a clearance of 1.15m, and also finished third in the shot putt 'B' string with a throw of 6.44m.
Louise Conway was second in the 70m hurdles in 12.35s, and Abbie Urgias threw 6.64m for third place in the shot putt.
The club had four winners in the girls' under-15 events.
Sarah Coutts won the 1500m in 4:47.36, and Jenny Gillanders won the 'B' race over the same distance in 4:58.56.
Ailsa Marsh won the 300m 'B' race in 43.15s, and Skye Marshall was victorious in the high jump 'B' string with a clearance of 1.40m. Skye was also third in the 75m hurdles 'B' race in 13.20s.
Jennifer Brydon recorded a couple of third places - clocking 2:23.88 in the 800m and clearing 1.45m in the high jump.
And Ailsa Barr took third place in the 800m 'B' race, finishing in 2:29.50.
In the relays, the club's best performers were the under-13 girls' 4x100m quartet of Naomi McHardy, Dani Mauchlen, Caitlin Ritchie and Louise Conway, who finished second in 55.76s.
The under-15 girls' team (Ailsa Marsh, Aimee Paul, Skye Marshall and Sara Duff) and the under-13 boys' team (Ross Birrell, Jacob Carr, Kyle MacFarlane and Conor Gourley) both finished third in times of 52.89s and 58.19s respectively.
