A grand total of 103 teams descended on the Emirates in Glasgow at the weekend for the U12s SuperTeams. For those who are not familiar with this event, there is a boys' and girls' competition with each team having four athletes. All athletes compete in a run, jump and throw (in this case 60m, long jump and shot putt) and then join together for a relay finale. Points are scored for each athlete based on position and all points from all athletes are totted up to give a total team score.
Pitreavie entered three teams:
Pitreavie A Girls - Jennifer Brydon, Sarah Coutts, Emily Kerr , Lynn Harvey
Pitreavie B Girls - Jenny Gillanders, Orla Martin, Abbie Chsolm, Isla Booth
PItreavie Boys B - Connor Gourley, Keiran Boundy, Dominis Bennel, CAmpbell Bowie
For many of these young athletes it was their first time competing on the track and they all did fantastic!
The Girls A team made it to the podium and claimed silver with the B team 40th and the boys team 23rd. Well done to all athletes.
