East District Cross Country Report

Published on Tuesday, 15 October 2013 07:28

A fantastic eight teams headed to Livingstone on Sunday for the first cross country of the season with one team bringing home a silver medal.

For those who are not familiar with the East Distric Cross Country Relays, the Young Athlete teams consist of three runners (U13, U15 and U17) and the Senior teams consist of four runners (U20 and/or Seniors). These events are well attended with a huge number of teams taking part.

In the Young Girls race first home for Pitreavie and 12th place were the Pitreavie A team comprising of Jemma Jamieson, Leah Davie and Vhairi McAtear. Pitreavie B consisting of Fabi Mancini, Sophie Nethery and Emily Main were 22nd

In the Young Boys race Pitreavie A comprising of Alex Johnston, James Adam and Aidan Thompson were 2nd home taking the silver medal.

The remaining teams battled it out and crossed the finish line close together:

Pitreavie B (23rd) Liam Gillan, Tyler White, Corey Smith

Pitreavie D (25th) Arran Robertson, Andrew McNair, Ben Grant

Pitreavie C (26th) Cameron Pearson, Dylan Thomson, William Cain.

Both Ben and William did well to move up to the U17 leg.

In the Senior races we had two men's teams taking part. Pitreavie A comprising of Ben Potrykus, Neil Maclachlan, Scott McAlpine and Owain Williams were 19th whilst the B team comprising of Jeoff Farquar, Jack Lawrie, Stephen Perrie-Clyde and Iain Robertson were 37th.

The full set of results is available here.

Steve Adam has also taken a cracking set of photos which are available on the flickr site.
