About Pitreavie AAC Endurance

Published on Sunday, 08 March 2015 21:52

Pitreavie AAC Endurance is the new name for Pitreavie Road Runners

As the name suggests we are the Endurance running section of Pitreavie AAC. Pitreavie Road Runners is the longest established endurance running group in the Dunfermline area, however we felt it was time to refresh our name to reflect the training and racing that our members do. Our aim s to be a fully inclusive club and our existing members range from 18 to 70 years old and from relative beginner to experienced competitor.

Our Motto:

"No one gets left behind!"

We cater for all abilities and all ages (age 18 and over)  and run a variety of different training session throughout the year in and around Dunfermline.

Training:

Pitreavie AAC Endurance focus on running development and racing across all distances (5k-Ultra) and all terrains.

We have created a structured development pathway from beginner to competitive runner across all endurance disciplines. We also have links to the local jogscotland group; Ready, Steady, Go Pitreavie which offers beginners the chance to transition from couch to 5k into fully fledged Pitreavie AAC Endurance member, if they desire.

Our structured training program targets progress and improvement across all distances from 5k to marathon (and beyond!).

Our primary training nights are Tuesday and Thursday evening 6:30pm-8pm. Unless otherwise stated we meet at the Pitreavie AAC Clubhouse, next to the Pitreavie Athletic Centre, Dunfermline (Pitreavie Club House). Our members also meet for less formal longer runs on Sundays. Training takes place a various locations in and around Dunfermline.

Under the Pitreavie AAC banner members can also access a range of other qualified coaching sessions including track running, strength & conditioning, core & mobility and other general fitness sessions which are key to reducing injury and technique when running.

New to Running?

For those who are starting out on their running journey, or looking for that wee bit additional support, we also have a jogscotland group, Ready, Steady, Go Pitreavie! which meet on Sundays at 10am. This section is led by a qualified CiRF and a full team of jogleaders.  For more info contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
