Where can I find league information?

There is no website for this league therefore information is avaialable here or from the team manager.

What is this league?

This is an indoor Winter league.

Age groups are U11, U13, U15, U17 & U20 and each of these form a mini team for girls and boys at each group. ie. U11 girls are a separate team from U11 boys and so forth.

Points are awarded like cross country–athlete in 1st position gets one point, 2nd two points etc.

So the team with lowest match points on day is awarded max 15 league points, second team gets 14 points and so on down to 1 point.

Events are mainly the usual indoor ones but vary in number depending on age group. e.g.

U11's compete in 60m, 600m and standing long jump.

U13's compete in 60m, 60m hurdles, 200m, 800m, high jump, long jump and shot putt.

There is only one athlete for each event (unlike other leagues where there is an A and a B string.) The exception here is under 11's as there are only 3 events.

On the day of the league final they also hold relays (4 x 200m) for all age groups and medals are available here too.

Who competes in this league?

U11, U13, U15, U17 & U20 male and female athletes.

What are the different matches?

The first three dates are the league matches and top three teams from morning and top three from afternoon, once all league points have been added up go through to the final (currently 16th March). Therefore six teams of each age group of boys and girls contest for the medals.

How is the team selected?

The team selection is a bit like the JSB League with a mixture of abilities.  With U13 Girls, U15 Girls & U15 Boys there are enough athletes to be able to enter two teams for each of these age groups.

Availablitity forms were handed out in October and athletes who returned the forms will be eligible for selection.

Some coaches and their groups focus on Winter training and do not include the Indoor League in their training plan. This is more likely with athletes U17 and upwards.

How do I know if I am selected?

You will be contacted by the team manager plus the team selection will be posted on the forum.
