Sadly due to restrictions on the bridge we are unable to hold the popular Forth Road Bridge 10K this year. This is the major fundraiser for our club, so we have decided to set up the FORTH ROAD BRIDGE VIRTUAL 10K sponsored by Run4It.
You can run any 10K route between the 1st May and 30th July 2018, however the route must cross the Forth Road Bridge at least once.
The cost is £8 and in addition to a fab medal we have both age group and spot prizes up for grabs! To be eligible for the age group prizes sponsored by Run4It you must run the official route.
Ages 16+ on 1st May 2018 can enter.
What is a virtual 10K?
A virtual 10K is a 10K run which you complete in your own time.
How do I ensure my run is eligible?
In order to be eligible for your medal the following rules apply:
- The run must be completed between Tuesday 1st May and Saturday 30th June
- You can run any route, however it must cross the Forth Road Bridge at least once
- You can run longer that 10K, just clip a 10K part of the route to get your 10K time
-
Complete your run and keep proof. Proof can be:
- A photo of you on the bridge and a watch showing the 10K and time
- Strava link or screenshot
- Screenshot of any app with the details
- Pretty much anything goes :-)
- Complete the online form
- The "results" from all the runners will be published.
- Your medal will be posted.
AGE GROUP PRIZES
To be eligible for the main age group prizes you can opt to run the official route (providing you use strava as it is recorded as a segment):

Note - we cannot guarantee when both walkways will be open and this route uses both east and west walkways. You may be lucky (or you can contact the bridge authorities and ask in advance)!
SPOT PRIZES
All winners will be listed in results by time. We will randomly select positions from the results and these runners will receive a spot prize...so it doesn't matter how fast or slow you are there is a chance to win a prize!
Cost is £8 entry which includes the transaction fee for Entry Central.
This event is organised by Pitreavie AAC to raise funds for the club.
