Organising of the Trophy Meeting

Published on Wednesday, 06 August 2014 21:47

To the parents of all Pitreavie Athletes who are entering the Trophy Meeting and to all Under 20 and Senior athletes who are too old to enter; please take the time to read this message.

This event is now in its 23rd year and is well known across the length and breadth of Scotland and beyond. Some years we have seen entries from Ireland and other countries and it’s an event which is very unique with trophies rather than medals handed out. It gives our club a good reputation and we pride ourselves in putting on a great event whilst keeping the cost of entries low. As one of the last events in the T&F calendar it’s a great way to end the season for our club.

This event, however, does not run itself. We held a planning meeting last month and although it was heavily advertised, only myself, Rachel Hunter and Nicola Moriarty turned up with a handful of others offering to help on the day. The three of us waded through the massive list of tasks and as you can see assigned our names the best we could:

Pitreavie Trophy Meeting Task List

Nicola feels she has done more than her bit for the club this year and ideally would like other people to take on the tasks she has been assigned.

Please take the time to look at the list and see if there is something you could assist with otherwise we may have to cancel the event. I know that may be harsh but the club can’t continue with the same small group of helpers organising events. We know some people are willing to help on the day…but it’s getting to that day that we really need assistance with. There are also many people in the club who signed the assistance form along with membership and are yet to assist. This is the last opportunity this season to come forward.

There will be another meeting in the clubhouse on Tuesday 12th August at 6:30pm. If you can attend (or can’t but are willing to take a task off the list) then please contact me: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Thanks,

Debbie
