Queen's Baton Relay

Published on Tuesday, 01 July 2014 07:24

Last Thursday saw coach John McDonald and one of his athletes Francis Smith carry the Queen's Baton on its journey to Glasgow for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

John had an early start as he carried the baton through Dunfermline into the Glen whilst Francis waited down in Dalgety Bay for it to arrive. Both John and Francis then headed to St Andrews to join the other baton carriers for a celebtation.

Kilt clad Frank Coyle (one of our Road Runners and officials) also carried the baton and finally on this local leg we saw former Olympic athlete Ian Mackie (who was also cocahed by John) carry the baton.
