Well on a sunny day at Grangemouth 14 Pitreavie athletes set to the task of trying to keep the promotion push alive. Finishing 2nd on the day and now 3rd overall in the league 1 point being VP Glasgow and 3 behind leaders Shettleston.

Ryan Oswald came out to help the sprints team and had a fantastic double win in the 100m & 200m backed up by the ever reliable Declan Brennan who won the 100m and 2nd in the 200m B.

The 400m was a tough shout for both athletes Michael Burns was 4th in the a and Lewis Hunter was 2nd B. Michael had earlier finished 4th in a tactical run 800m.

Jack Lawrie put in a shift for the team finishing 2nd 400m Hurdles, 2nd in the 110m Hurdles and then in the high class high jump that was won in 2m28cm jack was 3rd in 1m 85cm.

Francis Smith won the B 110m Hurdles.

Tyler White and Corey Smith both ran well in the 1500m finishing 6th A and 3rd B

Donald Tod came off his sick bed to help the club he won the Long Jump with a fantastic 6m 70cm and finished 3rd in the Triple Jump.

Debutant Adam Johnston, just back from holiday and responding to a late call up. Finished 4th B in the Long Jump and 3rd B in the High Jump.

Craig Moriarty finished 3rd in the Pole Vault with 3m 60cm keeping the form that he showed at the schools going.

David Brand turned out in the guest 100m and also did the Javelin for the team finishing 3rd

Robbie Cuthbert turned out for the Javelin and shot put he was 2nd B and 1st B in the events gaining vital points for the team.

The day ended with a 4 x 100m victory and the 4 x 400m team finishing 3rd having to use Taylor Roy for the 2nd leg. Taylor turned up to help with results but with borrowed vest, shorts and spikes helped the team.

A fantastic team effort and team spirit the athletes would also like to thank all the officials and helpers that helped on Sunday.

The next match is 28th August we need all athletes to be available as we need to fill every event to help get as many points as possible.
