I want to congratulate all the U13 boys on their wonderful efforts at the final of the SAIL. The day started off well with Gregor's 3rd position in the Long Jump (4.15m). Ross's 60m sprint of 9.01sec gained him a well deserved 2nd place (only 0.01s between him & 3rd). Ben Ollis threw the shot putt 6.99m gaining another 3rd place. Euan hurdled well finishing 2nd with a time of 10.58 sec (half a second inside his previous best). Ben Knowles had a busy day with a clearing of 1.30m at the High Jump (equalling his PB), he then went straight over to the circular track for his 200m sprint where he finished 3rd. Campbell had a very close race in the 800m just missing out on 1st place with a brilliant time of 2.32.32 min knocking nearly 2 and 1/2 sec off his PB.
After all the scores for all six teams were added up Pitreavie Boys came out with Silver medals!! (Behind Giffnock North and ahead of Ayr Seaforth )
What a brilliant achievement for you all. Don't worry Ben, Ben & Euan - I have your medals.

In the relay competition held on the same day we had eight teams entered and all of our five A teams qualified for the finals. The Under 13 boys team unfortunately just missed out and managed 4th place.(Many thanks to Campbell for filling the space left by an unwell Ben Knowles). Ben I hope you are feeling better. The U15 girls’ team won bronze and the U20 mens’ team silver.

All in all a very busy, but well worthwhile day. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves & I look forward to seeing some more great results.
